La vidéo emprunte son titre au fameux ouvrage d’Adam Smith “Recherches sur la nature et les causes de la richesse des nations” datant de 1976, qui a établi le capitalisme comme l’idéologie du marché dominant dans la pensée occidentale.

The video takes its title from Adam Smith's famous 1776 work, "An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations", which established capitalism as the dominant market ideology in Western thought. The work employs the iconic images of London's two financial centers, the City and Canary Wharf, in order to investigate, through the devices and the aesthetics of experimental cinema, the nature of our capitalist system amid the global economic crisis.
