The Broken Altar est un portrait 35mm de cinémas en plein air filmés sous le filtre de l’étrange lumière du jour, dépourvu du brouhaha des voix humaines. La bande-son électro-acoustique, dans laquelle il nous est donné d’entendre des bruits lointains de voitures sur les graviers, charge le paysage d’un imaginaire et nous fait voyager dans les ruines d’une histoire cinématographique. The Broken Altar est un essai sculptural dédié aux artefacts architecturaux de ces espaces abandonnés.

The Broken Altar is a 35mm portrait of open-air theaters documented under the strange light of day, emptied of the once present hum of human voices, radioed-in soundtracks and tires on gravel. Scripting the landscape and exploring the residue of a cinematic history, The Broken Altar forms a sculptural treatment of the architectural artifacts of these abandoned and barren spaces.
