The Rupture of Promised Land (Or We Can Never Get There) (2020) is the sequel work of the experimental documentary, Those Who Do Not Remember The Past Are Condemned To Repeat It (2020). By composing the materials from FBI Vault and Jonestown Institute, this work consists of several sequences of monologues, confessions, and speechs made by the members and public figures of the United States and the Soviet Union. From the juxtaposition and the tension made by the audio and visual materials of the archive with the video game Outlast 2 which conveys its connection with the mass suicide of Jonestown in 1978, this work intends to project the trajectories of the rupture of the search of Promised Land of the Jonestown members. This rupture, in fact, also implies the disillusionment and disappointment of religious socialism. Thèmes : Documentary, found footage
