Fotomatar est un mot Franco-espagnol plus ou moins inventé, qui fait penser à photomaton et hésite entre mater (en argot : regarder) et matar (en espagnol : tuer). Le film qu’il désigne joue sur la narrativité. C’est aussi un film sur la durée, sur l’apparition de la couleur (plutôt glauque) , sur le suspense – un concerto pour déclics d’appareil polaroïd et cri d’horreur. C’est un thriller expérimental. Fotomatar is a french-spanish word more or less made up, which makes us think of a "phot-booth" (photomaton) and hesitate between "mater" ("mater" is a french slang word for "to look at") and matar (which means "to kill" in spanish). This film plays with narrativity. It's also a film about duration, about appearance of color (rather creepy), about suspense - a concerto for polaroïd triggers and horror scream.
