Christophe Guérin

Ses principales activités témoignent de son implication dans la mouvance du cinéma expérimental.
Comme cinéaste, il a réalisé une vingtaine de films qui circulent essentiellement dans le circuit des festivals internationaux. Parmi eux, Le Havre : port (2008), acquis par le FRAC Haute-Normandie, Romances sans paroles (2013), sélectionné au Tribeca Film Festival de New York en 2014 et Cross (2014), sélectionné en 2015 au European Media Art Festival Osnabrück (Allemagne) et au Fronteira Film Festival (Brésil). Comme programmateur, il a organisé plusieurs centaines de projection au sein de l'association eluparcettecrapule qu'il a fondé en 1992. Et depuis 2010, c'est dans le cadre du MuMaBoX – le rendez-vous mensuel du MuMa (Le Havre) autour de l'image en mouvement – qu'il propose une programmation exigeante.

Christophe Guerin often works from film (Super 8, 16mm, 35mm) to obtain a video for broadcast, after digital processing, mainly based on editing. Beyond the projection space, or the similarities between film and video are increasingly obvious, he considers that the main difference between the two media lies in the fact that the film image has a material existence and is therefore object of speculation.In this conjunction of two technologies - that he views as an enrichment, his research carried out on the graphic dimension, temporality, the collision of heterogeneous elements assembled in a logic of reuse, and also on the sound dimension.He is also founder of the association eluparcettecrapule based in Le Havre, in which he programs since 1992 sessions of experimental cinema, in collaboration with many partners.
