Serge Bard

Serge Bard, né en 1946. Etudiant en ethnologie à Nanterre il abandonne ses études en 1967 car il n'aimait pas du tout la façon dont un de ses professeurs parlaient des africains ("mes nègres"). Il n'a pas de formation cinématographique, mais fréquente assidûment la Cinémathèque française. C'est lui qui regroupe les activités et personnes diverses sous la rubrique "Zanzibar". Il réalise trois films financés par Sylvina Boissonnas : Détruisez-Vous, Ici et Maintenant, et Fun & Games for Everyone. Au printemps 1968, il part en Afrique pour son projet "Normal". Il est accompagné par Boissonnas, Mosset, de Bendern, Léon, Willen, Pommereulle, et Lamy. A Alger, en décembre 1969, Serge Bard renonce à sa vie de cinéma pour se convertir à l'Islam. Homme d'affaire, il vit entre la Mecque et Paris.

Serge Bard (now called Abdullah Siradj, born 1946) : student at the University of Nanterre, he dropped out in 1967. He had no precise technical background in the cinema. it was Bard who assembled the diverse activites and persons under the tubric “Zanzibar”. With the aide of the Boissonnas family, he made three films : Détruisez-Vous, Ici et Maintenant, and Fun and Games for Everyone. In January 1969, he led an expedition to Africa. The group had two goals in mind: to film his project entitled “Normal” and to reach the island of Zanzibar. He was accompanied by Boissonnas, Mosset, de Bendern, Léon, Wilen, Pommereulle, and Lamy. At Alger in December 1969, Bard converted to Islam, thus renouncing his cinematographic mission. He has become an international businessman, living in Paris and Mecca.
