Maria Giovanna Cicciari

Maria Giovanna Cicciari a obtenu est diplômée en Histoire du Patrimoine Culturel et en Cinéma et Vidéo par l’Accademia de Brera. Son travail se focalise sur le paysage méditerranéen et son rapport au nord de l’Europe, notamment en littérature. In nessun luogo resta (2012), son premier court-métrage, a reçu le Prix du Jury au Torino Film Festival. Hyperion (2014) fut montré au Filmmaker Festival Milano et à la Mostra del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro entre autres. En 2016, elle a reçu la bourse du Ministère du Patrimoine pour Atlante 1783, montré, entre autres, à la Semaine de la Critique de la Mostra del Cinema di Venezia en 2016 et à Rotterdam International Film Festival en 2017. Depuis 2012, elle travaille avec l'artiste performeuse Annamaria Ajmone dans un projet ouvert sur la danse et les images en mouvement, Radura. Depuis 2017, elle enseigne le cinéma dans une école technique de la banlieue de Milan.

Maria Giovanna Cicciari graduated with a BD in History of Cultural Heritage and an MA in Cinema and Video at Accademia di Brera. Her work has been dedicated since today to the mediterranean landscape and its relationship with the north of Europe, especially in literature. In nessun luogo resta (2012), the first short film after graduation, was awarded at Torino Film Festival with the Jury Prize (Kodak Prize). Hyperion (2014), was shown at Filmmaker Festival Milano, Mostra del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro among the others. In 2016 she received the Ministery of Cultural Heritage Fund for Cinema for the film Atlante 1783, produced by Zivago Media and shown in many national and international festival as the International Film’s Critic Week of Mostra del Cinema di Venezia in 2016 and the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in 2017 among the others. Since 2012 she has been working with the performer Annamaria Ajmone in a open project about dance and moving images called Radura. Since September 2017 she has been teaching Cinema Language in a technical institute located in Milano's suburbs.
