Raphaël Sevet

RAPHAËL SEVET - né en 1979 à Angers - France
Diplômé des Beaux-Arts de Nantes en 2003, vit à Paris

Il réalise ses premiers films et installations au laboratoire cinématographique d’artiste Mire (Nantes) et les poursuit depuis au L’Abominable (Asnières).

Coordinateur de 2003 à 2006 des activités de distribution et de programmation pour la coopérative de cinéma expérimental Collectif Jeune Cinéma.

En parallèle à la réalisation de ses films courts, il travaille à l’élaboration et au suivi de projets de production et de diffusion dans la filière cinématographique traditionnelle ou alternative (Les Films Sauvages - société de production,
The Film Gallery - galerie d’art, cinéma l’Entrepôt - complexe art et essai).

Son travail est une recherche sur les phénomènes liés à la projection, qu’elle soit physique, à travers des dispositifs audiovisuels, ou mentale, à travers
des narrations.

Raphaël Sevet was born in 1979. He graduated from the Art School of Nantes. A member of le collectif des 7 (2000-2003), a collective gathering plastic artists, he made his first films in the Mire film laboratory in Nantes, and later in L’Abominable, a film laboratory for artists.

From 2003 to 2006, he coordonated the distribution and programming activities of the Collectif Jeune Cinéma (CJC), a cooperative dedicated to experimental films.

While attending to the production and the making of his own short films, he works on the production and the broadcasting of various projects, in the alternative field as well as in the traditional broadcasting channels.

His work is a research on the phenomenons induced by projections – physical projections, through visual devices, as well as mental ones, through narratives.
