Louis Dupont

Issu du théâtre, du cinéma expérimental et de la publicité, Louis Dupont travaille autour de la représentation du corps et de l'identité masculine. Artiste-réalisateur, il s’engage dans la défense d'un cinéma "Différent", et lutte, à travers ce champ d'expression, contre toutes les discriminations à travers des actions sociales et de transmission auprès des jeunes qui lui vaudront le Prix Vallet de la Fondation de France en 1998. En 2001, il initie avec le soutien du Collectif Jeune Cinéma, des séances de cinéma intitulées « En avant la toute jeune garde ! » au cours desquelles ses élèves présentent leurs travaux. Remarquées par Maurice Lemaître, « En avant la toute jeune garde ! » reçoit le Prix de l’Avant-garde en 2004. Dans la même année, il créait le département Transmission et sensibilisation du Collectif Jeune Cinéma qu’il dirige jusqu’en mars 2007. Aujourd’hui, les films de louis Dupont sont sélectionnés dans de nombreux festivals internationaux, dans des rétrospectives sur le cinéma français d’avant-garde, diffusés à la télévision (Arte, Pink TV) et édités en DVD (par Les Films de L'Ange, Out Play, Epicentre Films et Profun Media (Berlin).

Born in 1969 in Abbeville , he carries out his secondary studies in publicity, theatre and audivisual techniques, then starts his professional career within the "Theatre de la Cité" in Nice, first of all as assistant of the director Meyer Cohen, then as teacher of Dramatic art. In 1994, he initiates with the support of Provence Alpes Côte d\'Azur regional council , the "Theatre de la Cité" and the Catholic Charity Organization , a multicultural workshop (theatre, photograph, writing, cinema and video) named " Le Tremplin " (the Springboard) open to young people (18/30 years) of no fixed abode. In collaboration with the young people of the Springboard, he writes a play, "C\'est l\'Enfer" (It\'sHell), financed by Provence Alpes Côte d\'Azur regional Council and the Catholic Charity Organization. In 1999, the Vallet Price of the Foundation of France is awarded to him for its pedagogical action in teaching and in social sector. In parallel, he writes scenarii: Fisrt prizewi nner of the best scenario at the Festival of the Scenario writers in La Ciotat ( 2000 ) and winner of the International Festival of the Digital Cinema, Vierzon, ( 2000 ) . He directs between 1999 and 2006, Memosium (2002), the boys of the beach (2003), Torse (2003) written with Stephan Bouquet, Dialogus Corporis (2004), and Kiss of life (2004) written with the collaboration of Gilles Taurand. In 2001, he initiates with the support of the Young Cinema Collective, a film performance entitled "Ahead the very young guard! " where his pupils present their work. Noticed by Maurice Lemaître, "Ahead very young guard! " receives the the Avant- garde Prize in 2004. In the same year, he creates the Transmission and sensitizing department of the Young Cinema Collective and manges it until March 2007. Today, the films of Dupont louis are selected in many international festivals, in performances on French Avant Garde cinema and broadcasted on television (Arte, Pink TV ).
